Potten End is a delightful little village nestling within the Chilterns, an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This year we will be holding our ninth Village Open Day on Sunday 28th June.
From 11am to 5pm there will be an array of gardens of all shapes and sizes open for viewing together with a variety of other attractions outside on the village green and recreation ground, and inside the Church, village hall and school.

Over a dozen Village Gardens open to the public. These range from small cottage gardens to larger landscaped plots. We have shady, south facing, woodland plots, sweeping lawns, herbaceous or easy maintenance gardens. The Allotments-runner up of the 2007 UK best Allotments will be open showing an array of vegetables.
Around the Village Greens there is fun for all the family, Novelty Dog Show, our local Donkey sanctuary will have a couple of their boarders up for fussing, Maypole Dancing, Tug-O-War Classic Cars, Plant Sales, Music on the Green and many other activities for children and young people.( can you guess how many ducks are on the car?)
Activities Arts & Crafts are in the village hall there is an art exhibition in the school as well as a display of memorabilia and village history.
Our Church is hosting an Organ Recital and Flower display, also a service (weather permitting on the Green) is available to everyone from 5pm all welcome.
Parking and Transport; Free parking when you buy a programme otherwise it is £2.00 to park a free mini-bus service round the village will be provided. There are parking restrictions around the village so on road parking is very limited.
Refreshments are provided in the Church Room, The Village Store our two Pubs and on The Green.
Since our first Village Open Day in 1993 the event has raised thousands of pounds for good causes within the village such as the School and Church, the junior cricket team, Scouts and Guides, and other local societies benefiting all age groups.
Attendances have risen and we welcome visitors from near and far. Previous Potten End Open days have been enjoyed by visitors from all over Hertfordshire, neighbouring counties and by those travelling from as far as the midlands.
Entry to the gardens, art and craft exhibitions is by programme (£5 per adult) available on the day at the car parks and in advance from the village store.
